Wilks Masonry is now MidTex Masonry. Strong heritage, proven experience, exceptional standards in every project.

About MidTex Masonry

Built on Tradition. Driven by Progress.

At MidTex Masonry, our history isn't just something we look back on. It's built into the foundation of everything we do.

Originally established as Wilks Masonry, our company was built over decades on hard work, craftsmanship and high moral standards. Today, operating as MidTex Masonry under owners Eric Maston and Chance York, we carry that rich legacy forward across commercial, educational, government, medical and retail projects.

What makes MidTex Masonry different isn't just the structures we build. It's the way we build them. Both of our owners started at the very beginning, earning their stripes in the field as laborers and masons long before stepping into leadership. Because we've mixed the mud, laid the block and managed the jobsites, we bring a level of practical experience and real-world respect to every project we undertake.

MidTex Masonry Today

Fueled by a strong foundation, Eric and Chance are driving MidTex Masonry forward, investing in our team and creating a launchpad for the next generation of builders.

New name, higher standard. Today, MidTex Masonry integrates decades of specialized trade experience with precise estimating, streamlined operations, innovation and rigorous safety protocols across commercial, educational, government, medical, and retail sectors.

Leadership Team

Eric Maston, President and Co-Owner of MidTex Masonry

Eric Maston

PRESIDENT & CO-OWNER

Eric Maston's career in the trade began in 1995 straight out of high school, working alongside his father in commercial and residential roofing. In 1996, he joined Wilks Masonry as a field laborer, earning a hands-on understanding of the trade from the ground up.

Recognizing his sharp eye for detail, the company brought Eric into the office as an estimator in 1998. By 2000, he stepped into the role of Chief Estimator, leading the bidding department for two decades. Over nearly 25 years with the company, Eric worked side by side with founders Dan and Farris Wilks, learning the values of integrity, grit and craftsmanship.

In June 2020, Eric partnered to take ownership of the company and transition it into MidTex Masonry. Today, as President, Eric oversees daily office operations and continues to direct the Estimating Department, ensuring every project proposal is precise, competitive and delivered on time. Outside the office, Eric is devoted to his faith and family, and enjoys hunting, golfing and fishing.

Chance York, Vice President and Co-Owner of MidTex Masonry

Chance York

VICE PRESIDENT & CO-OWNER

Chance York's connection to the company spans nearly his entire life, earning his first paycheck at age 11 loading trailers during summer breaks alongside his father, a long-time driver for founders Dan and Farris Wilks. By 14, Chance was working on jobsites, joining full-time in 1999. He rose through the ranks as a laborer, journeyman mason and foreman.

In 2011, Chance brought his field expertise into the office, moving into estimating before becoming a Project Manager in 2013. For seven years, he mastered project execution and operational logistics before co-purchasing the company in June 2020.

As Vice President, Chance oversees project management, field operations and daily efficiencies. As the nephew of the original founders, continuing the company's tradition of creating growth opportunities for every hardworking team member is deeply personal to him. Outside of work, Chance is active in his church community, enjoys gardening with his wife, golfing with his son, and spending time with friends.

OUR HERITAGE

Our Heritage: Built on a Solid Foundation

The story began generations ago with Voy Wilks, a factory worker who learned the trade in the 1950s to build his own family home before turning masonry into a full-time career. His sons, Farris and Dan, grew up learning the craft alongside their father. After decades in the field, Farris and Dan founded Wilks Masonry in 1995, building it into one of the premier commercial masonry contractors across Texas, Oklahoma, and beyond.

For decades, the company stood for one simple promise: deliver quality craftsmanship, work with integrity, and treat people right.

Continuing the Legacy

Since acquiring the business in June 2020, our leadership has focused on building for the future while honoring our roots. Today, we are officially completing that evolution, moving fully under the MidTex name and retiring the Wilks Masonry brand.

Having both spent their entire working lives coming up through the ranks, starting at the bottom mixing mud, loading trailers and laying block before rising into estimating and project management, stepping into ownership wasn't just a business deal. It was a commitment to the trade and the people who built the company.

"We love the masonry trade, we love the people who work here, and we have a deep respect for the roots of this company. Taking on a great business that gave us so much opportunity and shaping its next chapter was an incredible opportunity, even with all the risk that came with it. We bought this company to protect what made it great and build an even brighter future for our team."

Chance York, Vice President and Co-Owner
